Twitter looks set to introduce a "Hide Replies" feature in conversations.

Twitter conversations can occasionally become long and contain replies that the originator of the tweet doesn't want to be seen. That won't be the case for much longer as it has been revealed the conversation starter will soon have the ability to hide replies they choose to.

The feature won't go without critics. Many see the ability for anyone to engage in a conversation to be fundamental to the open nature of Twitter. However, it also allows trolls to wreck threads and wage verbal war of an insulting nature against the author.

Twitter could introduce the feature and then remove it if there isn't sufficient enthusiasm for it, but it'll soon be seen in the sub-menu of all conversations you start.
