Twitter has introduced an even darker 'dark' mode.

You may already know that Twitter has a dark mode. However, it seems that it isn't dark enough for some users. Twitter have introduced a second dark mode option to give a truly black-out experience for when your eyes can't take any more light.

The existing Dark Mode is under Settings & Privacy and then Display & Sound, allowing you to switch to dark mode whenever you want. You'll now find another option in there called "Lights Out". This has the effect of changing what are slightly blue tones of the existing Dark Mode to truly black tones.

Twitter is responding to the increase in demand for more sensitive options to viewing, especially given that social media users have an increasing likelihood to be on platforms such as Twitter late at night and want as little light invasion as possible.
