With the Olympic games now well under way in the United Kingdom, we've noticed two particular national Olympic federations presences on Facebook.
The impact of a well thought out and designed timeline cover image can add impact and appeal to the most mundane of pages (something neither of those featured can be accused of).
The effort put in by the Olympics federations of Luxembourg and France are two excellent examples of timeline covers that convey a brand or purpose and prepare visitors perfectly for the content on the pages.
In the case of Luxembourg, they've produced a beautiful yet sporting related vista of the London skyline with a road leading into it in the form of the athletics track. It might not be the most original of ideas but they've produced it in a way that it works well.
France have gone even further. They started the games with a generic Olympic styled timeline cover that is now just one of a collection of covers in their photo albums.
Since then, they've changed the cover daily (perhaps even more than once a day) to reflect a French Olympian and their sport. It's a lovely touch to a modern design and is a perfect example of demonstrating how to keep bringing visitors back day after day.
