Facebook has updated the News Feed algorithm based on data you gave it during surveys.

Facebook appears to have listened to feedback from a number of surveys and has updated the News Feed algorithm to take into account what users have told them.

Their announcement says they've looked at who you say you're closest friend with and what interests you most, the places you mutually check-in to, and who you tag in photos - all signals of the people/friends you're most likely to want to see posts from.

If the new algorithm works in the way Facebook hopes, it should see users receiving fewer posts from classic clickbait sites and the demotion of pages that share or publish that type of content.
